Refreshing link previews.
If you have updated the site's title, description or image, social platforms may still show the old version from their cache. Follow the steps below for each platform.
Platform-specific instructions
- 1Go to the LinkedIn Post Inspector tool (link below).
- 2Paste the Quest Park URL you want to refresh (e.g. https://questpark.co.uk).
- 3Click 'Inspect'.
- 4LinkedIn will fetch the latest metadata and show a preview.
- 5If the preview looks correct, the cache is updated.
- 1Go to the Facebook Sharing Debugger (link below).
- 2Paste the Quest Park URL.
- 3Click 'Debug'.
- 4If the preview is stale, click 'Scrape Again' to force a refresh.
- 5The new title, description and image will be fetched immediately.
X (Twitter)
Open debugger- 1Go to the Twitter Card Validator (link below).
- 2Paste the Quest Park URL.
- 3Click 'Preview card'.
- 4Twitter will fetch the latest metadata and display the card preview.
- 5Note: Twitter caches aggressively; you may need to retry after a few minutes.
- 1WhatsApp caches link previews on its own servers.
- 2There is no public debugger tool.
- 3To force a refresh, try adding a query parameter to the URL (e.g. ?v=2).
- 4Wait 24–48 hours for the cache to expire naturally.
- 5If urgent, share the link in a new chat thread to test.
Telegram
- 1Telegram caches link previews on its servers.
- 2There is no public debugger tool.
- 3To force a refresh, add a query parameter to the URL (e.g. ?v=2).
- 4Alternatively, use the Telegram 'Instant View' editor for manual overrides.
- 5Wait up to 24 hours for automatic cache expiry.
Slack
- 1Slack unfurls links using its own crawler.
- 2There is no public debugger tool.
- 3To force a refresh, append a query parameter (e.g. ?v=2) to the URL.
- 4Post the updated link in a private channel to verify.
- 5Slack typically refreshes within a few hours.
General tip
If a platform does not offer a debugger, appending a cache-busting query string (e.g. ?v=2) to the URL usually forces a fresh crawl. Increase the number each time you need to re-test.
