Quest Park Data Campus
Sustainability

Sustainability at Quest Park.

We're planning Quest Park to run on a growing mix of renewable energy, to use land and resources carefully, and to be a quiet neighbour.

Renewable gas from waste

We plan to match the gas used on site with certified biomethane. It's made by breaking down farm residues, crop waste and food waste, the same material that would otherwise rot and release methane. Every unit carries a certificate showing where it came from, so it's counted once and only once.

Solar from local farms

From around 2030 we expect to bring in solar power from farms nearby, starting at 10MW or more with room to grow.

Quiet, clean power on site

Power on site is generated without burning fuel. That means no smoke, no soot and no engine noise, with battery storage built in to keep supply steady.

No fossil diesel

Most data centres keep banks of diesel generators for emergencies. Ours will run on HVO, a renewable fuel made from waste oils and fats, and will only start if the main system fails.

Nothing built before it's needed

We'll start on a small part of the site and add each phase only when a tenant commits, so no equipment is built to sit idle.

Open about the numbers

We'll publish our full carbon figures through the Environmental Impact Assessment and report against them once the campus is running. We're also talking to other renewable producers in the region and will add new sources as they're agreed.
